Postpartum Body Shaping

Postpartum recovery and core restoration, step by step

Your Body Changed a Lot — You Don't Have to Figure It Out Alone

Back aching, loose abdomen, no core strength, body shape out of sorts — new mums are so busy with baby that their own recovery gets pushed aside. You deserve professional support to restore your body step by step, not 'whenever there's time'.

What Is Postpartum Body Shaping?

Postpartum body shaping targets common postnatal concerns like abdominal laxity, pelvic instability, weak core muscles, and water retention. Through professional wrapping techniques, manual adjustment, and TCM principles, it helps the body gradually return to a more stable state. Treatment begins with understanding your delivery method, weeks postpartum, pain locations, and daily caregiving demands to determine the right intensity and pace. The focus is on safety and gradual progress — never extreme tightening. Combined with breathing exercises and simple daily movement guidance, it improves recovery efficiency, posture, and back strain, while building a foundation for ongoing body management.

What to Know About Postpartum Body Shaping

The right time to start varies — recovery timelines differ between natural and caesarean deliveries. We assess your wound healing and physical condition before beginning, so you start safely.

Body wrapping supports early recovery but doesn't replace core muscle training. We recommend simple breathing and core exercises alongside wrapping for more complete, lasting results.

Postpartum recovery takes time — we never push for extreme short-term tightening. Our approach is safe and gradual, with pacing adjusted to how your body responds.

What to Expect After Postpartum Body Shaping

Soft, loose abdomen after delivery, no core strength at all

After treatment

Waist and abdomen gradually firming up, feeling more supported when standing or holding baby

Constant lower back aching, can't stand for long without pain

After treatment

Less back strain, better posture, stamina slowly returning

Frequently Asked Questions

TCM abdominal binding is a body care therapy that combines abdominal conditioning with binding techniques to support core muscles and improve body shape. In our clinic, it integrates structural adjustment and constitutional regulation for comprehensive results.
Suitable for postpartum women, individuals with abdominal muscle laxity, weak core support, or those seeking to improve abdominal and pelvic structure. Suitability should be assessed by a TCM practitioner.
It is generally recommended to begin around 4–6 weeks after natural delivery and 8–12 weeks after cesarean section, once wounds have healed and the body has stabilized, following professional assessment.
General binding focuses mainly on external wrapping, while our approach emphasizes structural adjustment first, including pelvic correction and abdominal muscle repair, followed by binding to enhance overall core stability and results.
After childbirth or with abdominal muscle laxity, pelvic alignment and core muscles may become imbalanced. Without prior adjustment, binding alone may have limited effect, so pelvic correction is often performed first.
Many belly binding services focus mainly on external wrapping. However, in our clinic the treatment starts with body structure adjustment. The treatment may include: • Pelvic recovery techniques • Abdominal muscle recovery • Traditional belly binding • Chinese medicine support Pelvic recovery techniques are not commonly included in standard belly binding services and are one of the key features of our treatment.
Abdominal binding supports early recovery and provides structural support, but cannot replace exercise. Gentle core training is recommended for long-term results.
Typically, around 10 consecutive sessions over about 10 days are recommended to support gradual adaptation and recovery. The exact plan may vary based on individual condition and professional assessment.
It is not mandatory, but some may experience slower recovery or weaker core support; binding can help improve these conditions.
Self-binding is not recommended as proper technique and structural assessment are required for safety and effectiveness.
